Bayiga set to stay at NEC FC

Defender Patrick Bayiga is expected to stay extend his employment contract with Uganda Premier League side NEC FC, Swift Sports Uganda understands.

Bayiga joined NEC FC at the start of the 2024/25 season on a two year deal that expired this month. This website has established that the defender is set to sign a new two year deal with the Bugolobi based side.

Several clubs outside the country were interested in Bayiga’s signature.

Before joining NEC FC, Bayiga had spent the last five seasons at Maroons FC having joined them at the start of the 2018/19 season.

NEC FC had versatile player Joseph Dhata leave in this transfer window joining South Sudan side Jamus SC on two year employment contract.

Under the stewardship of Badru Kaddu Mukasa, NEC FC finished fifth on the Uganda Premier league table in the just concluded season with 53 points.
