The government of Uganda has granted Kitara FC permission to host CAF Confederation games at Hoima City Stadium.

Kitara will represent Uganda at the CAF Confederation Cup following their Stanbic Uganda Cup triumph over SC Villa.

“We are thrilled to announce that Kitara FC will play our 2026/27 CAF Confederation Cup home matches at the magnificent Hoima City Stadium.

The Minister of State for Sports, Hon. Peter Ogwang, confirmed the development during a ceremony at the launch of the construction of Hoima Booma training facility in Hoima City which will be used during the AFCON 2027.

“I have committed on your behalf and on behalf of the government that we are going to give them the facility come September where they are going to play their international game. We shall give them Hoima City Stadium.”

Kitara has previously hosted at the facility when they thrashed Buhimba United Saints in the Uganda Premier League in early March. In fact it was the first ever competitive match at the venue.
