Uganda Premier League side NEC FC are poised to hijack Hillary Onek’s move to Vipers SC, Swift Sports Uganda understands.
This website has established that NEC have identified Onek as the ideal candidate to bolster their right wing back options this transfer window.
Vipers are also keen on the player but sources reveal that NEC are currently leading the race for the BUL FC defender.
NEC is now moving with immense urgency to wrap up the deal before a full-scale bidding war can materialise with the Bugolobi based side board currently finalizing the structural paperwork for the deal.
Onek has a year left on his current employment contract at BUL FC but the former St.Mary’s Kitende player is willing to leave the Eastern giants this window.
Onek has been featuring for BUL FC since he was promoted from the junior team in 2021. He helped them win the 2022 Stanbic Uganda Cup title.
Onek was also part of the BUL Junior Team that won the 2018-19 FUFA Juniors League title after defeating KCCA FC Junior Team in the final.
