Uganda Cranes defender Timothy Awany has joined Bulgarian topflight club Botev Plovdiv.
Awany joins the Bulgaria’s oldest club as a free agent from Israel’s Ashdod FC where he spent seven years.

His move follows his farewell from Ashdod FC, a side he played for 190 games until last season.
Awany will don shirt number 20 at Botev Plovdiv and becomes the club’s fourth signing in this preseason window.
Botev Plovdiv was founded in 114 years ago in March 1921 and remains the oldest active club in the country.
Botev Plovdiv has won the Bulgarian topflight league title twice, the Bulgaria Super Cup once and the Bulgarian Cups four times.
Awany will be expected to inspire the club to a respectable finish next season having finished 8th on the table last term.
