Uganda Premier League side Lugazi FC has appointed Bashir Ssemuyaba alias Bastu as their new assistant coach on a two year deal.
Last week, this website reported that Ssemuyaba was in advanced talks with the club to serve as Abbey Kikomeko’s assistant.
“We are delighted to announce the appointment of Ssemuyaba Bashir alias Bastu to our coaching staff as the senior team’s Assistant Head Coach after signing a two-year contract with Lugazi FC on Tuesday.” Confirms the club through a statement.
He replaces Robert Ssekweyama who was Simon Peter Mugerwa’s assistant as the club overcame relegation.
Ssemuyaba served as assistant coach to Hussein Mbalangu at URA last campaign and was also assistant coach at NEC FC and Mbarara City in recent years.
Ssemuyaba is also a former head coach at Kaaro Karungi, Kiyinda Boys, and Ssingo Ssaza team and the Buganda Province.
Lugazi’s technical staff also has Denis Kizito alias Deman Denol as fitness coach, Jamil Ddamba as goalkeeping coach, Statisticians Nkalubo Jimmy Ivan and Kasozi John Bosco. Team Doctor is Ivan Kulika while Solomon Tayomba will work as the team physio.
