Ivan Jacky Minnaert has been appointed as the new head coach of Botswana Premier League giants Jwaneng Galaxy.
The 59 year old Belgian tactician has put pen to paper on a one year contract with an option to extend.
Minnaert left Vipers last month following his contract expiration after winning the Uganda Premier League without losing any game on the pitch.
He becomes the third coach to coach both Vipers and Jwaneng Galaxy after Portuguese Miguel Da Costa Duarte and Serbian Nikola Kavazovic.
Minnaert’s task is winning the Botswana Premier League having won two league titles in two successive seasons, one in Uganda and another in Liberia.
He has a working experience of over 20 years in Africa and has coached in Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Libya, Mali, South Africa, Guinea and Liberia.
He has notably coached Al Ittihad in Libya, Rayon Sports, AFC Leopards, Black Leopards, AS Kaloum Star, Mukura Victory, Djoliba AC and Fasell FC among others.
Jwaneng Galaxy will represent Botswana in the CAF Confederation Cup having won the FA Cup after beating Mochudi Center Chiefs 2-1 in the final last season.
