Martin Kizza close to UPL Return

Stanbic Uganda Cup champions Kitara FC are close to agreeing a deal with left winger Martin Kizza Lubwama, Swift Sports Uganda understands.

This website has established that Kizza is expected to complete a move to the Hoima based side this week and is to put pen to paper on a one year employment contract.

Kizza is currently a free agent following expiration of his six month contract at South Sudan side El Merriekh Sports Club Bentiu.

It should be remembered that Kizza joined the South Sudan Premier League side in January this year on a six months deal which expired last month.

Kizza is to reunite with coach Wasswa Bbosa whom he worked with at Express FC and SC Villa.

Besides Express and Villa, Kizza also played for KCCA FC anf Vipers SC in the Uganda Premier League. He also turned up for Ethiopia premier league side Fassil Kenema Football Club and had stints at two South African clubs; Royal Eagles and Free State Stars.

Kitara is the market to bloster their squad ahead of a busy 2026/27 campaign that will involve continental football as well as domestic competitions.
