The 2026 CECAFA Kagame Cup group stage draw has been held on Friday in Kigali, Rwanda, with 12 teams including Uganda Premier League champions Vipers SC learning their opponents.
At the ceremony held at Amahoro Stadium, Vipers was drawn alongside hosts APR FC, Kenyan giants Gor Mahia, and Garde Républicaine of Djibouti in Group A.
Reigning competition champions Singida Black Stars were paired in Group B with Simba SC, Jamus SC of South Sudan, and Mogadishu City Club of Somalia.
Last year’s runners-up Al Hilal will face Rayon Sports, Tusker FC, and KVZ of Zanzibar in Group C.
The winners from each group make it directly to the semi-final stage and are joined by the best performing second placed team among the three groups.
The tournament will officially run from July 24 to August 7 in Rwanda’s capital Kigali.
