The Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) has cleared seven Stadiums for 2026/27 Uganda Premier League season with eight being rejected.
The development was confirmed on Tuesday evening by FUFA. The stadium assessment exercise conducted as part of the club licensing process ahead of the 2026/27 season.
According to FUFA the following stadiums failed to meet the Licensing requirements for 2026/27 season.
1. Bugonga Fisheries Ground
2. MTN Omondi Stadium
3. Luzira Prisons Ground
4. Royals Park, Butema
5. Kigezi Al-Madina Ground
6. Mbale City Stadium
7. Bombo Barracks Ground
8. Ebenezer University Ground
Why KCCA FC’s MTN Omondi was rejected by FUFA
1. The artificial playing turf at the stadium is significantly worn out and has deteriorated to a very poor state, of particular concern is the condition of the goal areas, which are in an extremely dangerous state that poses a serious risk of injury to players.
2. The technical benches available at the stadium do not meet the required standards.
3. floodlights assessment report indicates an average illumination of 503 lux which does not meet the minimum average lux requirement stipulated in the stadium regulations.
Amazingly FUFA named the venue as one of the two venues to host the FUFA Super 8 tournament due to commence next month.
The following stadiums have been approved by the FUFA Club Licensing Committee for 2026/27 season.
1. St. Mary’s Stadium – Kitende
2. Hamz Stadium – Nakivubo
3. Mutesa Il Stadium – Wankulukuku
4. Kiira Police Arena – Kamwokya
5. Lugazi Stadium – Najjembe
6. FUFA Technical Centre -Njeru
7. Rwamwanja Stadium – Kamwenge
