Tunisian giants CS Sfaxien have announced the signing of midfielder Hakim Mutebi on a three year contract.
Mutebi has been a free agent after his departure from Bosnia & Herzegovina side FK BSK Borac Banja where he spent a season.
He becomes the second Ugandan at CS Sfaxien after Travis Mutyaba who has spent one season at the club.
Mutebi is a former SC Villa and St. Mary’s Kitende offensive midfielder who has previously featured for the national U18 and U20 Teams.
He is expected to add creativity in the club’s offensive department that also has Mutyaba, ahead of the next season.
He will also become the third Uganda to play for Sfaxien following the footsteps of Yunus Sentamu who was the club in 2014-15.
Sfaxien, also nicknamed as the Arabian Juventus, have won the Tunisian Ligue eight times and the Tunisian Cup on seven occasions.
Sfaxien are also the joint-record winners of the CAF Confederation Cup having won the title three times, same as Morocco’s RS Berkane.
