Striker Alfred Leku has departed Lugazi FC after one season with the club.
Leku used his social media accounts to applaud everyone at the club and noted how tough it has been for him.
” To the Board, coaches, staff, and teammates. I want to thank everyone at Lugazi fc for the opportunity to represent this club this past season.” He wrote.
” It was a difficult year for me personally, but I’m grateful for the support, I wish them all the best.”
The lanky striker endured a barren season having played a total of 13 games without scoring a goal for the club but registered only one assist.
Leku joined Lugazi in July last year following a stint at Kenya Premier League side Kenya Police FC.
The South Sudan forward has featured for a number of clubs including Vipers, Express, Arua Hill, Onduparaka, Proline and URA FC.
He also played for Kiyovu Sports in Rwanda and had a brief spell in Botswana with Extension Gunners FC and Jwaneng Galaxy.
Freedom Mungudit who joined Mukura Victory Sport in Rwanda and Sharif Saaka Yusuf are other players who have already exited Lugazi.
Lugazi already signed Louis Anguti Amagu, Jamaldin Buchochera, Christopher Birungi and Frank Mulimi while Richard Ayiko and Moses Buga have signed new contracts.
