NEC reveals injury update for Okao after UPDF clash

NEC FC have confirmed that defender Jacob Okao suffered a fracture to his right tibia after being fouled during Tuesday’s 1-0 win over UPDF FC at MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.
Okao was unable to continue and was forced off in the 81st minute following the challenge.
In a statement released by the club, NEC revealed the defender is in stable condition.
“We are pleased to report that Okao is stable and currently in a plaster of Paris,” the club said.
“The entire NEC FC family wishes him a successful recovery and a speedy return to the pitch.”
Okao’s injury is a big blow for Badru Kaddu’s side, who are now second on the Uganda Premier League table on 23 points after Fahad Bayo’s lone strike sealed victory over UPDF.
The defender missed the majority of last season due to an Achilles tendon rupture he suffered in October last year that kept him out of action.
