• JKT Queens (Tanzania) 3-1 Buja Queens (Burundi)
Tanzania’s JKT Queens came from a goal down to beat Burundi’s Buja Queens 3-1 in the first semi final to storm the final of this year’s CAF Women’s Champions League Qualifiers at Njeru.
Buja Queens took an early lead through Kenyan striker Topister Situma but JKT Queens staged a second half comeback and subsequently won the evenly contested semi final.
Situma tapped home perfectly from an Elizabeth Wambui well laid cross in the 11th minute.
JKT equalized through usual suspect Donisia Daniel Minja in the 63rd minute following a goalkeeping howler by Buja’s Kenyan custodian Monica Karambu.
Abdallah Stumai Athuman made it 2-1 with a brilliant strike from Amina Ally Bilal’s assist in the 77th minute.
Teenage striker Winifrida Gerald made it 3-1 inside the added four minutes as she rushed onto a defense splitting pass to beat an approaching Karambu from cross range.
JKT will face the eventual winners between Ethiopia’s CBE FC and Kenya’s Vihiga Queens.
The final and third place playoff will be played on Wednesday. The eventual champions of the tournament will represent CECAFA in the final CAF Women’s Champions League tournament in Ivory Coast later this year.
