SC Villa cruised to their first victory at the ongoing CECAFA Kagame Cup in Tanzania.
The Uganda Premier league champions beat the Tanzania’s Singida Black Stars 3-1 in the game that was held at Azam Complex on Friday evening.
Villa came into the contest after a goalless draw with South Sudan’s El Merriekh Bentiu in the game that was played on Tuesday.
New signing Najib Yiga fired Dusan Stojanovic’s men into the lead at the stroke of halftime.
Patrick Jonah Kakande doubled Villa’s advantage from a well taken penalty in the 52nd minute after Reagan Mpande had been fouled in the forbidden area.

Moments later, Mpande also got himself on the score sheet after being fed by skipper David Owori.

Singida found a consolation through their captain Marouf Tchakeh at the hour mark but it was not enough to inspire a comeback for the Tanzanian outfit.
Villa are now top of Group C with four points and will next return to action against Taddeo Lwanga’s APR FC on Monday.
