The 51st Stanbic Uganda Cup Round of 64 continued on Sunday with three games at various playgrounds.
2022 competition winners BUL FC needed an Ibrahim Orit’s late strike to overcome Garuga Stars with 18 minutes to normal time. Orit came on as a substitute replacing Martin Aprem.
BUL FC won the 2022 Uganda Cup trophy under the stewardship of Alex Isabirye Musongola beating Vipers SC 3-1 in the final that was played at Masindi Municipal Stadium.
Joint record competition winners Express FC secured a place in the round of 32 after edging Red Devo 1-0 thanks to a Ssenfuma first half strike at Namasale Tech Ground.
BUL joins current Stanbic Uganda Cup holders Kitara, Express, Vipers, NEC and Pakwach Young Stars at the next round.
In the other game, holders Kitara FC thrashed Young Simba at Bombo Military Grounds to advance to the round of 32.
Midfielder Titus Ssematimba netted a brace with George Ssenkaaba and winger Living Kabon scoring the other goals for Wasswa Bbosa coached side.
Stanbic Uganda Cup holders Kitara FC, Express FC join three time competition winners Vipers, Pakwach Young Stars and last year’s runners up NEC FC into the round of the 32.
