Following their disappointing start to the 2024 African Nations Championships (CHAN) on home soil, co-hosts Uganda have held their recovery sessions at FIFA funded Kadiba Stadium on Tuesday evening.
Uganda suffered a humiliating 3-0 to last edition’s runners-up Algeria during their Group C opener on Monday at the refurbished Mandela National Stadium in Namboole.
Ayoub Ghezala gave Algeria the lead in the first period before second half strikes from Meziane Abderrahmane and Soufine Beyazid.
Uganda Cranes coach Morley Byekwaso and his players had a recovery session that was held at Kadiba as they hope to have redemption against Guinea on Friday.
Kadiba Stadium hosted the final of the 51st edition of the Uganda Cup between Vipers and KCCA FC on May 31st 2025, which was the first ever match to be held at the stadium. Vipers prevailed 2-0 in the final.

Kadiba Stadium construction began in 2018 at the land that was offered to FUFA by Namirembe Cathedral.
At the time of its construction, FUFA revealed that works were to cover a total cost of 4.4 US million dollars( 15.4 Uganda billion shillings) thanks to FIFA.
