URA FC are set to announce Sam Ssimbwa as their head coach for the next 3 years.

Ssimbwa who was appointed under interim capacity at the end of April following the sacking of the underperforming Paul Nkata, will now be tied down to see the 4 times league winners steered back to their previous glory.

He has been allowed to name his support staff and he has sensationally named former URA and KCCA player Richard Malinga on his team. Malinga has been working under Mike Mutebi on KCCA’s technical bench.

Ssimbwa is also set to name Robert Mukasa as his assistant,  Mukasa has previously served as  goalkeeping coach at SC Villa and he has been serving under the same capacity at URA FC.

Others will be Augustine Nsumba, a former player with URA FC alongside Kiggundu Billy who will serve as the goal keeping coach.

Ssimbwa’s short interim tenure has seen him restore parity at the club he found in sinking mode, managing to win once and drawing 3 of the 4 games he took charge of.

He comes with bags of experience having managed at all the major clubs both in Uganda and East Africa.
