Asamoah Gyan out as Kwesi Appiah names squad for Uganda tie

Ghana head coach Kwesi Appiah has named a 24 man squad to travel to Kenya for a training camp to prepare for their World Cup qualifier against the Uganda Cranes to be played on 7th October 2017 at Mandela National Stadium.

Captain Asamoah Gyan and Midfielder Thomas Agyepong will join the Ayew brothers among the party that will miss the visit to Uganda. According to a statement from the Ghana FA, Gyan  and Agyepong have been unable to recover in time for the match to be played on Saturday.

The 24 man squad that includes debutante Kingsley Sarfo, Abass Mohammed, Kasim Nuhu, Vincent Antinga and Isaac Twum will base in the Kenyan capital of Nairobi on Tuesday 3rd.

The Black stars of Ghana currently lie 3rd in group E topped by Egypt followed by Uganda in 2nd. Egypt will visit Congo Brazaville whose hopes of qualification are already over.
