Canada-based youngster elated by Uganda Hippos call up

Sammy Ssebadduka is hoping his first Uganda Hippos call up and playing with some of the other rising stars will help elevate his career to the next level. The exciting winger features for Canadian side Gil Vicente.

The youngster is one of the foreign based players in the 46 provisional squad summoned by newly appointed U20 head Morley Byekwaso to begin preparations for the U20 AFCON Zonal Qualifiers.

First of all, I feel good and humbled to be summoned to the U20 team and I can’t wait.”

“I believe in my own ability and I’m confident I can perform at international level.”

“But I also want to improve and I’m eager to learn what it takes to be a success at this level.

“If anything, I believe the better the players you play with or against, then the better you will perform yourself. I’ve always believed that.”

Ssebadduka is also optimistic that he will put up great performances to help the team win in Tanzania.

“I am an ambitious person and I am optimistic that I and my teammates will be eager to help the team win in Tanzania.” Added Ssebadduka.

Ssebadduka showcases his potential

Ssebadduka is a son to former Posta FC legend Godfrey Ssembeguya and Solome Nanvule who are currently based in Canada.

The Zonal Qualifiers will be held in Tanzania from 22nd November to 6th December. Uganda is in Group B alongside Burundi, Eritrea and South Sudan.
