Crested Cranes forward Violah Nambi has returned to Sweden where she will be playing for IFK Kalmar in the topflight league.

Nambi has been playing for Austrian second tier club FC Dornbirn Ladies since February this year.

After a brief stint in Austria, Nambi returns to Sweden where she played for Vaxjo DFF for about six years and scored a total of 48 goals.

She left Vaxjo at the start of this year following the relegation of the club after four seasons in the topflight league.

The versatile forward was part of the squad that represented Uganda in the WAFCON tournament held in Morocco last month and played two of three group games.

Locally, Nambi featured for St. Mary’s Kitende, Kampala Junior Team (KJT) and UCU Lady Cardinals before she left the country in 2014.

Her immediate task will be helping the club in a fight against relegation. The Kalmar City based club currently sits 11th on the league table of 14 teams with nine points from 16 games.

Other new summer acquisitions at the club are Svea Rehnberg (a forward from Mallbackens IF Sunne) and Patrícia Fischerova, a defender from KKS Czarni Sosnowiec in Poland.
