The preliminary round draws for the second edition of the FUFA Women Cup were held today morning at the FUFA house in Mengo.
24 teams registered for this year’s FUFA Women’s Cup and these included 14 teams from the FUFA Women Elite League, 7 Regional league sides and 3 Non-League teams.

Eight teams which reached the quarter finals during the first edition received a bye and they are to feature in the next round. These are; Olira HS Women, Gafford Ladies, UCU Lady Cardinals, Muteesa I, Western United, Taggy High, Kawempe Muslim and She Corporates.
The finals of this year’s edition have be scheduled to be played in Bushenyi district in June with 7.5 million shillings up for grabs for the winner, a rise from the 3 millions given out last year.
Olila High School Women Football Club are the defending champions after edging Gafford Ladies 3-1 on penalties following a 1-1 full-time draw at Madibira grounds in Busia district last June.
The preliminary games have been slated to kick off on Sunday 11th March.
