The aggregate winners between the two sides will face either Equatorial Guinea’s Akonangui FC or Zambia’s Zanaco FC in the second round.

This will be Express’ first appearance on the continent since 2008. However their last appearance in the champions league was in 1997 when they fell to Zimbabwe’s Caps United.

It should be noted that in 1995, The Red Eagles were semi finalists after they lost to Orlando Pirates 2-1 over the two legs.

Wasswa Bbosa’s men are currently competing in the CECAFA Kagame Cup where they will face Malawi’s Nyasa Big Bullets in the final on Saturday.

Uganda’s other continental representatives URA FC have been drawn against Ethiopian Coffee in the preliminary round of the CAF Confederation Cup where the eventual winners will face Egyptian side Al Masry in the next round.
