Kyetume strengthen defence with acquisition of former SC Villa and Wakiso Giants defender

Kyetume FC have completed the signing of defender Ibrahim Kiyemba Swift Sports can reliably confirm.

Kiyemba has been tied down on a twelve months renewable contract and tasked to help Kyetume back to the premier league.

The defender is a former captain of Lweza FC (now defunct) and has also featured for Artland Katale, SC Villa, Vipers SC and recently Wakiso Giants.

At the new club, he joins new recruits goalkeeper Jamal Malyamungu, defender Dan Birikwalira and midfielder Emmanuel Kalyowa. The trio were awarded a contract of one year each.

The club is also set to award Baker Buyala a new contract.

When the 2020/21 season was ended abruptly due to the pandemic Kyetume FC finished 14th with only 23 points from 27 games hence suffering relegation.

Raymond Walugembe, Yusuf Ssaka and Richard Matovu have already left the club on permanent basis.

Midfielder Nicholas Kasozi was sent on a long season loan to Express FC.
