MASAZA CUP : Defending champions dumped out as Buddu, Bulemeezi progress to semis

Holders Ssingo had their journey to defend this year’s Masaza title came to an end following a one-all stalemate with Kyadondo Mityana ssaza grounds.

The result meant that Kyadondo progress to the semi finals 3-2 on aggregate following a 2-1 victory in the first leg at Mwererwe.

Amis Ssemugera put the defending champions in the lead but Kyadondo levelled matters through Douglas Kizza who converted from the penalty mark.

In Kasana, Luweero Emmanue Loki scored the all important goal as Bulemeezi edged Kyaggwe to seal a berth in the semi finals on with a 2-1 aggregate score.

Bulemeezi and Kyaggwe had played to a one-all draw in the first leg at Mukono Bishops grounds.

Elsewhere, Busiro who are aiming at their maiden championship, played to a goalless draw with Ssese at Ssentema grounds to storm the final four 2-1 on aggregate.

Butambala and Buddu’s tie ended in a goalless draw which confirmed that Buddu book a semi final slot with a 3-1 aggregate score.

The semi finals will kick off on September 15th.

Buddu will be host Busiro in the first leg at Masaka Recreation grounds while Kyadondo will be playing Bulemeezi at Champions stadium Mwererwe.
