Mato, Muwonge among Fortebet Real Stars of March

The Fortebet Real Stars winners for the month of March were officially rewarded on Tuesday morning at Lazio Restaurant in Lugogo.

Seven athletes from seven sports disciplines were rewarded for their astonishing performances in the month.

Uganda Cranes and KCCA FC forward Rogers Mato was the footballer of the month.

The youngster scored the only goal for Uganda Cranes away to Tanzania in the Group F AFCON qualifying game that was held in Dar Es Salaam.

His goal kept the Cranes hopes of making it to Ivory Coast for the continental showpiece alive. In the same month, Mato scored two goals for KCCA FC in the league and Uganda Cup respectively.

The KCCA FC forward beat Laban Tibita (Busoga United) and David Owori (SC Villa).

Latib Muwonge was the best Boxer of the mi the following his victory over Tanzanian Albano Clement in the Super Lightweight ABU title fight last month. He beat Kassim Murungi and Bruce Kimbugwe to the accolade.

Collins Kimbowa won the Rugby gong following his outstanding performances for KOBS in the month. Eric Tolit (Buffaloes) and the winner of the February gong Pius Ogena (KOBS) were the other nominees.

The Rally crew of Yassin Nasser and Ali Katumba won the Rally accolade after their second place finish at the Kenya Equator Rally.

Jas Mangat and Joshua Muwanguzi were the other nominees for the best Rally crew of the month of March.

In Table Tennis, Parvin Nangozi beat Jemimah Nakawala and Samuel Ankunda to the gong.

Nangozi qualified to the Africa Senior Championship.

Joyce Nalubega was named the best Woodball player of March. Juma Ssembusi and Thomas Kedi were the other nominees.

Sarah Makanga clinched the Darts accolade after registering a 4-1 and 4-0 win at the African Darts Championship in Women singles. She also excelled at the Egyptians Darts Open singles category. The other nominees were Henry Job Odoi and Bosco Lepi.
