Livingstone Mbabazi’s Mbarara City came from a goal down to beat Wakiso Giants 2-1 in a Uganda Premier League game played at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium.

Douglas Bamweyana’s men are now 13th on the log and if Kyetume manage to beat Police FC tommorow, they will only be a point above relegation. They have only managed 2 wins all season.

Tom Masiko gave the hosts an early lead after converting from the spot but the visitors rallied back through Henry Kitegenyi and Solomon Okwalinga.

Kitegenyi restored parity for Mbarara City at the stroke of halftime to destabilise Bamweyana’s half time plans.

With only five minutes left on the clock, Okwalinga netted the winner as Mbabazi’s charges secured victory over his former employers.

This was also the Ankole Lions’ second win on the road this term while the Purple Sharks remain winless at home after suffering their fourth defeat of the campaign.

Mbarara City move to 11th place on the log with 17 points.

Wakiso will visit the unpredictable Soltilo Bright Stars as Mbarara city hope to have it easy against the punching bags of MYDA in Mbarara on 14th April 2021
