Villa complete sensational swoop for Vipers’ out of contract defender

SC Villa have taken a significant stride towards solving their defensive problems after completing a deal for out of contract Vipers defender Geoffrey Wasswa.

This website reliably confirms that the versatile player who can ably operate as a central midfielder and a central defender has agreed to be with the 16 times record champions until the end of this season.

He joins Villa after negotiations between his representatives and Vipers hit a snag. It is understood that the club were willing to extend his stay but a strained relation with his captain stood in the way.

The player has started training with Villa as documentation for his licence is finalised.

Wasswa joined the Vipers senior team after graduating from the Junior team at the beginning of the 2015/16 season. He is a product of the prestigious St. Mary’s Kitende conveyor belt.

He has won two league titles and a Uganda Cup winners during his time with the Kitende based club.

He is expected to walk straight into Villa’s starting eleven that currently has youngster Gavin Kizito, Asuman Harishe and Moses Kiggundu.
