Orlando Pirates forward Gabadinho Mhango scored a goal in each to inspire Malawi to a 2-1 win over fellow COSAFA neighbors Zimbabwe in a Group B encounter played in Baffousam.

Both teams came into the game on the back of losing 1-0 to Senegal and Guinea.

Zimbabwe took the lead through Ishmael Wadi who headed home a well delivered cross from Onismor Bhasera in the 38th minute.
