Newcomers Kitara stun SC Villa

Kitara FC stunned SC Villa with a 2-1 win at Muteesa II Stadium in Wankulukuku on Friday.

An own goal from Elvis Ngonde in the last minute of the contest earned Kitara their first win over the record winners.

Denis Omedi had give the Hoima based side the lead in the 15th minute before Charles Lwanga levelled matters for SC Villa.

SC Villa had a slow start to the game with Kitara dominating the first period.

Despite their poor start, the Dusan Stojanovic coached side came close to taking the lead before the halftime breather but David Owori missed a golden opportunity with an open goal at his disposal.

In the second period, SC Villa improved with substitutes Ivan Bogere and debutant Hakim Kiwanuka all coming close.

It was an impressive debut for Ngonde but his own goal was enough to give Brian Ssenyondo coached side maximum points.

SC Villa next visit Maroons in Luzira on September 24th while Kitara will host Ssenyondo’s former side UPDF FC on September 22.
