Bika Byabaganda Netball record champions Mmamba Namakaka, Njovu, and defending champions Ngeye registered big wins as the 50th edition of the Bika Byabaganda Netball tournament kicked off at St Lawrence University on Saturday 20th-April.
Mmamba Namakaka defeated Mpeewo 38-7, Njovu humbled Mpindi to a 69-00 humiliating defeat while Ngeye won 34-6 against Nvuma.
Chief guest Owek.Robert Serwanga affirmed that this competition has the potential to produce champions that can play for the national team as well as at the international level,
“I thank all the clans that that have taken part in the 50th edition, we call upon you to support your clans as well as asking the participants to give their best. I believe a good player can be identified from here by top clubs.”

Dr.Sarah Muwonge Nkonge appreciated all that make the 50th edition a success,
“I appreciate all those who have supported particular clans, our guests have donated to the participating teams and we are very grateful.
Our target this year is not only playing the game but also providing skills to the girls.

William Bwambale the Uganda Primary Schools Sports Association president and Jocelyn Ucanda the team manager NIC Netball team, Hon Patrick Nsanja,BIFONEC chairman Hajji Sulaiman Magala were in attendance.
Ucanda and Bwambale donated two balls each and refreshments to all the participating clans.
The Bika Byabaganda Netball tournament will climax on Saturday 27th at Wankulukuku.
Ngeye are the defending champions after they defeated Nnyonyi Nyange 37-36 in the 49th edition to be crowned champions last year.
