Resurgent Bulemeezi host Mawokota in Masaza Cup Semifinal return leg

Two time Masaza Cup winners Bulemeezi will battle with Mawokota for a place in this year’s final when the two sides face off in the Semifinal return leg on Monday at Kasana playground in Luweero.

The first leg at Buwama ended in a 1-1 stalemate with Joseph Kayondo scoring for Mawokota while Johnson Ssenyonga netted for Bulemeezi.

Bulemeezi a much improved side in the knockout phase are aiming at reaching the final of the prestigious competition for the first time since 2019 when they went on to win the trophy.

For the three time winners Mawokota, it is now ten years since they last prevailed to the final.

Bulemeezi beat Buwekula 2-1 to reach the Semifinal stage while Mawokota needed a narrow win to overcome Buvuma.

Last year, Bulemeezi were eliminated at the Semifinal stage by Buddu while Mawokota’s journey ended at the Quarterfinal stage.

The winner in the return leg will cruise to the final of the competition and will face the winner between Buddu and Gomba.
