It was goals from Timothy Otieno and Amos Asembeka that inspired Tusker Fc to first win of the new season as they cruised 2-1 passed Nzoia Sugar at Ruaraka grounds on Saturday 24th February 2018.
The game also saw Ugandan internationals Robert Achema and Hashim Sempala named in the starting eleven.
An early breakthrough looked imminent and in the 7th minute Amos Asembeka opened the scoring heading home a Timothy Otieno cross. Nzoia Sugar responded positively in the 14th minute, when Elvis Rupia shot outside the box beat Tusker FC custodian Duncan Ochieng to level for the visitors.

Timothy Otieno who had a great display got on the score sheet in the 29th minute powering the hosts to a deserved 2-1 lead, this time the assist coming from Boniface Muchiri.
By the end of the 90, Tusker recorded their first win of the season having previously drawn goalless against Posta Rangers and lost 2-0 to Chemelil Sugar in their first opening two fixtures
Sam Timbe in his post match conference was delighted with the team’s performance and he called for consistency.
“I am happy with the performance but what I demand from my players is consistency and I hope they can carry on with that performance in the coming matches.”
The win saw the breweries side climb to 11th place on the log of eighteen with 4 points accumulated in 3 games while Nzoia Sugar are second from the bottom and without a point in the four games they have played so far in Kenyan Premier League.
