Vipers SC are in negotiations to sign former Express FC striker Erick Kenzo Kambale.

Kambale has emerged as a surprise target for Vipers SC and the Venoms are reportedly not hesitant to sign him.

According to FUFA TV’s Spotlight, talks over a possible transfer got underway days ago and if all goes well, Kambale will be a Venom ahead of the new season.

The Congolese born striker spent last season at Sudanese giants El Merreikh, a side he joined from Express FC last year.

Surprisingly, Egyptian Premier League club Ceremica Cleopatra FC agreed with El Merreikh over the transfer of Kambale, last month.

They agreed on a three year contract for Kambale in a deal that reportedly included a clause which allows El Merreikh to obtain 15% of the future resale of the striker.

Kambale was sparingly used at El Merreikh and his departure from the club wouldn’t be a surprise coming into a new season. He was not named in the club’s squad for the 2023/24 season.

The lanky striker made a mark with Express FC since his arrival in Uganda in 2018 after his stint with Congo’s AS Dauphin Noir.

He scored 33 goals in 84 games he played for the Red Eagles and guided the club to a league title and a CECAFA Kagame Cup in 2021.

This report comes at a moment when Vipers are reportedly set to part ways with Brazilian striker Rodrigues Giancarlo Lopez.
