Vipers SC are moving closer to sealing a deal for defender Farouk Katongole from Tooro United in the current transfer window.

The Uganda Premier league champions have been pursuing the defender for several weeks and Swift Sports understands a breakthrough is getting close.

This website understands that SC Villa’s bid to sign the defender hit a snag due to a failure to agree on the player’s demands.

In case the deal materialises, Katongole will reunite with Fred Kajoba and Paul Kiwanuka whom he played for at Bright Stars.

Katongole played a pivotal role last season as Tooro United put up a fight for survival that was lost when the UPL season was abruptly ended due to the outbreak of the deadly Coronavirus pandemic.

Vipers SC have so far signed Disan Galiwango (Express), Jamil Kalisa (Bright Stars), Ibrahim Oriti (Mbarara City) and David Bagoole (Busoga United).
