URA FC part ways with assistant coach Baker Mbowa

Uganda Revenue Authority Football club have sacked assistant coach Baker Mbowa, Swift Sports Uganda understands.

According to reliable sources, Mbowa’s replacement is set to be announced earlier next week.

The Revenue collectors will however continue with Sam Timbe as their head coach ahead of the second round of the season.

Mbowa joined URA FC in April last year after the club had part ways with assistants Simeone Masaba and Robert Mukasa.

The CAF B licenced coach has had stints at Proline FC first in 2016 where he led the club as they fought for Premier League promotion.

Mbowa was Shafiq Bisaso’s assistant when they lifted the Uganda Cup in 2019 and consequently featured in the Caf Confederation Cup before he joined Bright Stars.

The former KCCA FC and Ex Cranes international has also worked at Masaka LC, Mawokota and Kabula in the Masaza Cup.

URA finished the first round of the current campaign 11th on the Uganda Premier league table with 14 points.
