Promotion hopefuls NEC FC suffered a disappointing 2-1 defeat at the hands of Kyetume FC at the Nakisunga Grounds in Mukono.
Kyetume scored through the experienced duo of Simon Okwi and Dennis Lubowa while skipper Marvin Kavuma pulled one back for the losing side.
Okwi headed home perfectly from an Ezra Kizito Kaye cross to give Kyetume a first half lead in the 38th minute.
Lubowa made it 2-0 from the penalty spot after a foul on Emmanuel Kalyowa in the 63rd minute.
Kavuma reduced the deficit with a long range low drive in the 79th minute but was unfortunate not to inspire a comeback.
NEC slipped from the second to the third place on 27 points while Kyetume sit distant 11th on the table of 16 teams with 16 points.
The league will resume next Thursday as NEC host Kataka while Kyetume will visit Soroti City on the same day.
