Former Villa, Express defender leaves Gaddafi to join Rwanda’s Musanze

Rwanda Premier League side Musanze FC have signed Ugandan defender Shafik Bakaki ahead of the start of the league’s second round next week.

Bakaki has been playing for Uganda Premier League side Gaddafi FC but has left the club after only six months.

He has been signed alongside Nigerian attacking midfielder Nicholas Ashade Ayomide and Yasser Arafat Tuyisenge from Burundi.

Bakaki now joins fellow countryman Ben Ocen who also plays for the Musanze district based club.

The travelled defender burst to the scene with Express FC before he moved to Vipers and later SC Villa.

He has a stint with Zambian giants Nkana FC before returning to Villa for a second stint.

Musanze currently sit 9th on the league table with 22 points after the first 15 games and will be playing Rayon Sports in their immediate assignment next week.

Other Ugandans in Rwanda include Benson Muhindo, Yafesi Mubiru, Juma Ssebaduka, Pius Wangi, Nicholas Kagaba, Brian Ssali, Robert Mukoghotya, Nicholas Ssebwato, Musa Esenu, Erisa Ssekisambu, Satro Edward, Muzamiru Mutyaba, Muwadda Mawejje, John Musasizi among others.
