Jinja Lions Beach Soccer Club have started the new Beach Soccer season with a convicing 3-1 victory against last season’s finalists Buganda Royal.
Debutant Simon Ojera, Herbert Onyango and Frederick Ngalo scored a goal each for the Jinja based club.
Paul Lule was the goal scorer for Buganda Royal Beach Soccer Club.
Ivan Kulika, the Jinja Lions assistant coach hopes to build from the positive start to make it to the play offs,
“Victory against last year’s finalists is a big boost for us. It also gives us an opportunity to remain in the race hence optimistic of playing in the play offs despite this game being the first one this season.” Kulika says.
In the other games played defending champions St Lawrence University defeated MS Sand Lions 5-2 while Mutoola BSC also defeated Grace Church BSC.
