Rogers Mato’s controversial goal earned KCCA FC maximum points over Wakiso Giants at the Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium.
The forward seemed to have come from an offside position before firing the league leaders into the lead at the stroke of halftime.
Assistant referee had flagged Mato offside but the goal stood since Wakiso Giants’ Lawrence Bukenya who was off the pitch without permission from the referee kept the KCCA FC striker onside.
Referee Ali Sabila awarded the goal after consultations.
Mato and Bukenya had collided out of play before the latter struck.
The win sees KCCA FC extend their grid at the summit and are now on 32 points.
Victory also helps Morley Byekwaso’s side complete a league double over Wakiso Giants having prevailed 3-2 in the first round at Lugogo.
In the other game played on Thursday, Maroons FC beat Busoga United 1-0 thanks to a late strike from Darius Ojok.
