Third Division side Bunyaruguru United stunned Premier League side UPDF FC during their Stanbic Uganda Cup round of 32 contest at Nyakasharu playground on Thursday.
Bunyaruguru beat UPDF 2-1 to prevail to the round of 16 of this season’s Stanbic Uganda Cup.
Kayebwa Edison and Ibrahim katerega netted Bunyaruguru’s goals while Ivan Ahimbisibwe scored for the Army side.
In the other game played today Thursday, Third Division side Kiyinda Boys who eliminated Premier League side Gaddafi in the Round of 64 continued their journey with a 2-1 win over Western Region side Kigezi HomeBoyz in their game at Mityana Ssaza Ground on Thursday.
Namuwanda Steven and Sebufu Steven scored Kiyinda Boys’ two goals while Odeke Dickson scored a late consolation Kigezi HomeBoyz from the spot.
Action in the Stanbic Uganda Cup continues tomorrow Friday;
Defending champions BUL will host nine-time winners SC Villa at Njeru at 2pm while Kisugu Utd will entertain Paidha Black Angels at Bugolobi Coffee Grounds.
