The Executive Secretary of Football Development at FUFA, Ronnie Kalema has stated that the Federation is planning to have Video Assistant Referee (VAR) system in Uganda.

Kalema made the revelation while appearing on NBS Sport on Wednesday morning

“We are discussing with the people who handle that technology from where it is coming from and very soon we shall unveil VAR in Uganda.”

We want to improve the game of football by eliminating all these errors so that people can enjoy the game.” Football is an event where we come, laugh and get clean goals.”

Kalema adds that his revelation is not a political statement

“It’s not a political statement, I am telling you from where I sit we are having a discussion. Why not to discuss about it and understanding the nitty-gritty that it provides.” Said Kalema

Meanwhile, only Egypt and Morocco leagues use the Video Assistant Referee (VAR )system in Africa.
