The organisers of the Fortebet Real Stars awards have named the best sports personalities from six disciplines for the month of February.
Jacob Kiplimo won the athletics gong after winning the World Cross Country championship title in Australia last month.
He won the World Cross Country title in a time of 29 minutes and 17 seconds to beat Ethiopian Berihu Aregawi.
Kiplimo overcame Joshua Cheptegei whom he dethroned to win the World Cross Country title and Doreen Chesang to the Fortebet Real Stars accolade.
In Motorsport, the Rally Crew of Yasin Nasser and Ali Katumba clinched the February award after excelling at the Mbarara Festival Rally which was the first round of the National Rally Championship (NRC).
They beat off stiff competition from Ronald Ssebuguzi and Mugambwa as well as Duncan alias Kikankane Mubiru and Bongole.
Jannon Jaye Otto scooped the Basketball gong for astonishing performances at the Africa Zone V Championship that were held at MTN Indoor Arena.
She beat her national teammates Brenda Ekone and Maria Najjuma.
Otto was Uganda’s top scorer with 87 points as Uganda finished runners up to winners Egypt. Actually only Egyptian Raneem Elgedawy managed to scorer more than her.
Kobs star Pius Ogena won the Rugby accolade of February beating Heathens’ Aaron Ofoyrwoth and Karim Ramathan.
Teenager Mohammed Fadilah Shamika took the Badminton award ahead of Husinah Kobugabe and Brian Kasirye.
Rogers Mugisha took the football gong for his superb display at the U20 AFCON tournament in Egypt.
The Uganda Hippos and UPDF FC attacker beat Patrick Katumba and KCCA FC goalkeeper Derrick Ochan to accolade.
