Kawempe Muslim thumped newly confirmed league winners Kampala Queens 5-1 in the quarter finals of the FUFA Women Cup played at Kabojja.
Youngsters Phiona Nabulime, Agnes Nabukenya, Shakira Nyinagahirwa and Allen Nasaazi and their captain Aisha Nantongo scored the five goals for Kawempe.
Nabulime kicked off the rout with a feeble shot the seemingly found it’s way through a forest of bodies into the net in the 12th minute.
Kampala Queens found an equalizer through Lukiya Namubiru who capitalized on a failed clearance by Rhoda Nanziri in the 35th minute.
Nabukenya restored the lead with a perfect low drive after a brilliant exchange with Hadijah Nandago in the 51st minute.
Nyinagahirwa made it 3-1 with a close range finish on 65 minutes before Nasaazi got the score sheet following a well delivered corner kick in the 73rd minute.
10 minutes to nornal time, Nantongo wrapped up the obliteration with a penalty after Elizabeth Nakigozi brought down Nabulime in the area.
The win sent Kawempe to their first ever Women Cup semi final while inflicted a defeat to Kampala Queens for the first time since February 9th 2022.
It should be noted that the Ayub Khalifa coached side has now won eight of the overall 10 meetings against Kampala Queens.
Kawempe will face Uganda Martyrs in the semi final whereas She Maroons and Asubo Gafford Ladies will face off in the other semi final.
