The USSSA National Boys Championship officially kicked off early morning in Fort Portal with games in Group A and Group B.
Holders St. Mary’s Kitende cruised to a comfortable 4-0 win over Tororo Town Council at the Kikwamba Playground.
Ronald Madoi, Abdul Nsereko, Hakim Mutebi and Olimi Nyarwa were on target for the Abel Daniel Male coached team.
Wakiso Giants prospect Ronald Madoi opened the scores in the first with a header from Justin Opiro’s delivery in the 9th minute.
Police FC winger Abdul Nsereko made it 2-0 with another header from Olimi Nyarwa’s free kick a minute later.
Seven minutes later Mutebi who plays for SC Villa made it 3-0 before Olimi Nyarwa wrapped up the rout.
Among other Group A games on the morning, St. Henry’s Kitovu beat Bishop Comboni Kambuga 5-0.
Jinja Progressive drew 2-2 with Teso Progressive whole Mukono based Latifa Mixed School beat Nakaseke International 2-0.
In Group B, hosts Nyakashura School lost 3-1 to London College Nansana, Sironko Progressive beat Mengo SS 1-0, Bishop Angello Negri beat Ryakasinga Che 2-1 whereas Alwa SS and Aki Bua SS drew 1-1.
