Kitara FC have officially been promoted to the StarTimes Uganda Premier League from the Big League after beating Adjumani Town Council 3-0 at the Paridi Stadium.
Paul Mucureezi continued with his scoring form while George Senkaaba and Paddy Muhumuza got the other goals.
Mucureezi who had scored three goals in the previous games, put Kitara into the lead with a sumptuous free kick in the 32nd minute.
A minute into the second half, Mucureezi became the provider after setting Senkaaba who perfectly made it 2-0 for the Sam Simbwa coached side.
Paddy Muhumuza made it 3-0 with a header from Moses Seruyidde’s corner kick in the 66th minute.
The victory simply summed up the entire campaign for the Hoima based side who have heads above shoulders in the league.
Kitara’s next task will be a home game against Soroti City in a bid to win the FUFA Big League championship.
They now lead the table with 58 points from 29 games. Mbarara City are second with 57 points.
Mbarara City also beat neighbors Kaaro Karungi 2-0 to secure promotion courtesy of Henry Kitegenyi and Jude Ssemugabi.
