Bashamu Mugwa scores four minute hat trick as Busoga stun Arua Hill in Barifa

Bashamu Mugwa scored a hat trick in a space of four minutes as Busoga United grabbed a stunning 4-1 win over Arua Hill in Barifa.

The much needed win automatically relegated Onduparaka who also lost 1-0 to Maroons at Luzira.

Coming into the game, Busoga United needed victory to enhance survival hopes since they face title hopefuls KCCA and Vipers in the final two games.

Laban Tibita who has been Busoga’s shinning light through out the season, scored the first goal in the first minute of the game.

Arua Hill responded through their skipper Rashid Toha who equalized through a penalty after Isaac Ogwang was brought down in the area in the 20th minute.

The stroke of halftime was entire a Bashamu Mugwa show as he scored three goals on succession.

Mugwa who previously featured for Luweero United and Busia Fisheries, restored the lead in the 44th minute with a header.

He made it 3-1 after capitalizing on an error by goalkeeper Rogers Omedwa in the first of the added three minutes.

He completed the hat trick in the final added minute.

15 minutes into the second, Mugwa almost scored his fourth and Busoga’s fifth on the day but he failed to hit target with an empty net at his display.

Busoga are currently 12th with 27 points while Arua Hill are 5th with 38 points.
