Prosper Soccer Academy have been crowned 2022/23 FUFA Juniors League (U17) of Kampala Region.
Under the stewardship of Ronald Ssali, Prosper Soccer Academy clinched the title after finishing top of the Kampala Junior league table with 75 points.
In their last game, they beat NEC FC Junior side 3-2 at Kawempe Muslim playground to seal their maiden championship as the league came to an end.
Fred Muwanguzi, Patrick Ouke and Frankline Tamale scored the vital goals that led them to victory.
“We thank the Almighty for this achievement, we are a new side, and this is so important to us. I thank the Federation for organizing this league. I hope and believe many will be important players to the country in the near future.” We now turn focus on the national championship in Njeru since we want to win the title as well.” Said Ssali
Prosper finished seven points above second placed KCCA FC Soccer Academy and will now wait for the National Championship comprising of the five champions from different regions towards the end of this month at the FUFA Technical Center, Njeru, to determine the National Champion.
Niwamanya Junior of SC Villa JT finished as leading scorer with 21 goals, one ahead of Madut Deng Ngong of KCCA FC Soccer Academy.
This season, the FUFA Juniors League was played in regions for the very first time since it started in 2015.
