SC Villa agree deals with important duo to extend their stay

SC Villa are on track to reach an agreement with striker Charles Bbaale and skipper Gift Fred to extend their stay at the club.

Both players had their previous contracts expire at the of last season.

Swift Sports Uganda understands that the duo have agreed terms to extend their stay at the 16 time Uganda Premier league champions.

Sources also reveal that Bbaale who score 12 league goals is expected to renew his stay at Villa in the next couple of days while defender Gift will sign after Uganda Cranes engagements.

Gift joined Villa from third tier side Booma FC on a three-year employment contract in 2020.

The defender had great 2022/23 campaign as Villa came close to winning the league title, finishing third on the log with 52 points.

Bbaale joined Villa from Mbarara based Terrazzo and Tiles FC and helped the side gain promotion to the FUFA Big during the 2019/20 season.

Both players featured in the prestigious Masaza Cup competition and won the 2020 edition with Gomba.

Bbaale was also the 2020 Masaza Cup top scorer with eight goals for the Gomba Lions including one against Buddu in the final played at St. Mary’s Stadium in Kitende.

SC Villa have already appointed Serbian tactician Dusan Stojanovic as Jackson Magera’s replacement. He will be assisted by former KCCA FC head coach Morley Byekwaso.
