Mbarara City have agreed terms with pacy winger Joseph Akandwanaho.

The winger is expected to sign a two year employment contract with the newly promoted Uganda Premier league side.

Akandwanaho is currently a free agent following expiration of his employment contract at Express FC.

He is expected to bolster Mbarara City’s attacking options as they prepare for the 2023/24 league campaign.

Akandwanaho has previously featured for Nyamityobora FC, Bright Stars and Express FC.

The Ankole Lions have already lost their skipper Jude Semugabi who is expected to join Kitara FC.

They are also searching for new head coach following the departure of Sadiq Sempigi who guided them back to the topflight division.

Mbarara City finished second on the FUFA Big League table last season on 60 points in 30 games they played.
