Goalkeeper Hannington Ssebwalunyo is set to re-join his former side Maroons FC, Swift Sports understands.

Ssebwalunyo’s employment contract with the Tax Collectors has come to an end with no compromise for a renewal between both parties.

The goalkeeper has sparingly been used after playing second fiddle to Alionzi Nafian and will be opting for a fresh challenge in a bid to garner more playing time.

Maroons are in search of a goalkeeper following the departure of Simon Tamale who joined Rwanda’s Rayon Sports last month.

It should be remembered that Ssebwalunyo spent a season at Maroons FC before he joined URA FC on a three year contract in 2020.

Maroons will be hoping Ssebwalunyo can replicate his impressive exploits of the 2019/20 season when he was playing for the Prisons side.

He has in the past featured for Ndejje University FC in the Big League, BUL FC in the topflight and Bulemeezi in the Masaza Cup.

Maroons have been silent side in the transfer market so far and have only confirmed the departure of five players who include Tamale.

Other departed players are Brian Nkuubi, Samson Kigozi, Noel Nasasira and striker Brian Kayanja who was on loan from KCCA FC.
